Be Good to Your Future Self 🫶🏻

June is here.

Still on track with your goals? Great.

Falling behind? As long as you keep moving, you are winning.

As I slowly picked myself up from low mood and motivation, I’m here to bring productivity and mindfulness tips to boost your well-being.

Today in 5 minutes or less, you’ll learn:

✔️ How to save time

✔️ How to balance ambition and contentment

✔️ Why mental clarity is crucial for success

Doable ideas 💭

Task batching.

Something I have normalised in multiple areas of my life it became a second nature.

Filming, audio recording, meal preparation, laundry…

For each recurring task, there should be a system in place to optimise efficiency.

It would take me 15 minutes to set up the camera, microphone, lighting and find the best position to film videos.

So it wouldn’t make sense to just film one video in one setting.

Batching is great in general, except sometimes it creates procrastination as each batch feels like a giant project you don’t want to start.

It’s still a doable idea, go ahead and see for yourself. 🙂

Reflections 🪞

On a scale of 1-10, how well do you feel you spent your time last week?

Mindfulness 🧘🏻‍♀️

Do you think of your future self?

Like a version of yourself you would like to become? Do you envision the habits, lifestyle, even the clothes you will have?

I think of this a lot, ever since I read Dr. Benjamin Hardy’s book “Personality Isn’t Permanent” a few years ago (he had a book called “Be Your Future Self Now” out in 2022 that I haven’t read).

I keep track of my dreams on a Notion page called “Future Self 💭”.

It never ceases to amaze me how I’m already “living the dream”. And – how my goalpost is always moving.

It’s good to be ambitious.

It’s good to challenge myself and demand more.

But it’s also easy to fall into the trap of “only when I get X, then I will be happy”.

It’s tremendously valuable when we take a step back and look at our life from a bird’s eye view, so that we realise how far we’ve come and how much we’ve achieved.

Work hard, but don’t forget to live.

Have some gratitude practice in place, whether that be journaling or breathwork, will keep us more grounded.

Ideas Worth Pondering 🧠

Desire is a contract you make with yourself to be unhappy until you get what you want.
