Hey friends 👋🏻
Happy holidays 💛
Here are Doable ideas, Reflections and Mindfulness to try out this week.
Doable ideas 💭
Listen to your intuition.
Pay attention to your body reaction.
You can lie to yourself however you want, but your body is smarter than you think.
Reflections 🪞
Who are you grateful for this year? How can you strengthen your relationships next year?
Mindfulness 🧘🏻♀️
It is worth noting (don’t mind me being like a broken record) that mindfulness is a practice, and you will get better at sitting with your thoughts as time passes. I’m in no privilege position to tell you what you should do, but I strongly advocate for training your ability to observe your thoughts and accept your feelings.
You don’t have to sit still cross-legged. You don’t need music or soundtrack.
All you need is find your time and space to unplug 🔌.
Disconnect from the world. Only then you can tune into your inner voice.
P.S. That’s what I’m going to do next week! I’m going on a solo day trip to an unfamiliar beach to do my annual review accompanied by Chris Sparks’ worksheets. He’s an absolute legend and I highly recommend following his template. And for the first time ever, I’m going back to the good old pen and paper method instead of using Notion. Will report back later x
Ideas Worth Pondering 🧠
Let’s debate: is new year resolution helpful/useful?
I personally believe in a blend of A) a clear sense of direction, and B) short burst of momentum.
Basically, if new year resolution helps you gain clarity in where you wanna go, by all means make one. But we do need some short term goals to move us forward.
We are not going to get shredded magically by 31 December. Nor are we suddenly playing guitar and speaking a new language.
We need a clear goal, a path and different checkpoints to make sure we stay on track.
12-week Year Goalsetting
Here’s how to balance long-term and short-term goals: think of a year as 4 quarters. Set mini goals (that are aligned with your annual vision), and sprint towards them every 3 months.
It’s a sweet spot to try things and adjust if things don’t go as planned.
I’ve been using the 12-week year goalsetting method for so long without even knowing it’s a thing.
Reflecting on how I made some life-changing decisions in the past few years, it is the ONE thing that helped me gain unstoppable momentum and discipline.
