Doable ideas 💭
Create a calming playlist and listen to it during your commute or before bed.
Between you and me: I listen to this Turkish deep house playlist 15-30 minutes before bed while I do mobility work. It’s my wind down routine 🙂
Reflections 🪞
Are you able to rule over yourself? What’s holding you back?
Mindfulness 🧘🏻♀️
Why do you carry on your life in this certain way?
Does that work for you?
Most things seem to be a gradual change.
Good habits losing their streaks, replaced by short term comfort.
Your lifestyle is not the same comparing to 3 years ago.
Or, maybe you are proactive. You tweak your habits and set yourself for success instead of letting life get in your way.
If we zoom out a bit, we may realise some routines and habits do not benefit us.
We can take the “should” out of the equation.
Real efficacy is doing the right thing at the right time.
But first we have to realise what is necessary in the current situation.
For example, my current lifestyle requires early bedtime and massive meal prep on the weekend. If I don’t do so, my energy level drops, I feel like crap and my work performance suffers.
But in the past 2 weeks, I was burning all the energy reserve – overcommitted on weekends, attended a concert on a weeknight, leading to exhaustion, under preparation for work and delay in video upload schedule.
I’m not in my 20s anymore.
I can make better decisions and set up better system for my future self.
A few other recent examples include ditching time blocking and to-do list.
These days I have an energy problem, and the solution is a brain dump list.
Lay all my thoughts out on the paper, stop feeling overwhelmed, and figure the truly important tasks to be done.
Or just leaving the work desk and go recharge. I usually get inspirations during walks and spontaneous activities.
Some solutions work temporarily.
What worked before might not work again.
What got you here won’t get you there.
Maybe we don’t have to be so religious about our routines.
We are a different person now. We have a new goal, which requires new processes and systems.
Firm beliefs, loosely held.
Ideas Worth Pondering 🧠
If you want to get your day going, then get your body going. It’s harder for the mind to be sluggish when the body is moving.
