The Fast Forward Button You Need in Life ⏩

Feeling under the weather this week hence I’ll keep this short.

Here’s another quick one on priorities and what to focus/invest on.

Read on.

Today in 4 minutes or less, you’ll learn:

✔️ The magical “fast forward” button

✔️ Whether your priority and actions aligned

✔️ What to give a damn about

Doable ideas 💭

Quick way to tell whether you’re optimising time:

If you find yourself wanting to press “fast forward” of an event, you should have said no.

If you don’t want to skip through an event, you are in the right place at the right time.

  • Some clients drain your energy.
  • Some friends are worth catching up with.
  • You might be better off doing other form of workouts.

The “fast forward” button is an indicator.

Not all work is unavoidable, and some kind of physical discomfort is good for you.

No matter how much you want to skip it.

But by having a “remote control”, you become aware of what you want more of in your schedule.

Life is short.

Reflections 🪞

What is important to you right now? Looking at your calendar last week, did you spend time appropriately to reflect your priority?

Mindfulness 🧘🏻‍♀️

We make plenty of decisions every day.

From what to wear, what to eat to whether to take that job or be committed to a person, it’s taxing our time, energy and attention.

If we don’t priortise well, we feel drained quickly.

That’s why automation (or “habits”, if you will) is great to eliminate decision making.

Working out, brushing your teeth, walking your dog, meditation.. became non-negotiables.

You don’t wake up and question whether to do them.

You just do.

Automation frees up our mental space to make more important decisions throughout the day.

Decisions that ACTUALLY matter.

Because most things don’t matter in the end (cue in Linkin Park…).

Choosing what you give a damn about becomes crucial.

From there, we can enjoy a peace of mind when we loosen our grip on other things.

I recently realised some of my plants just didn’t need that much attention.

Nor do I care wearing the same clothes to work every week.

We only have that much time, energy and attention.

Decide in advance what to focus on, and what to let go of.

It can be temporary.

This season you might focus on family and neglect career growth.

In another season you might do the opposite.

Allocate your limited resources mindfully.
