The What, Where and How of Doing 🧭

Simple ways to figure out what to work on, where to go and how to get there.

Tell me your win of the week.

I’ll start:

I made substantial progress with a client whom I thought was impossible last week, in regards to therapeutic relationship and his goals.

It’s important to celebrate any win in the process to get some momentum to keep going.

Today in 5 minutes or less, you’ll learn:

✔️ Why you need to stop “multitasking”

✔️ Set short term direction

✔️ Why routines are crucial for success

Doable ideas 💭

Narrow down your focus.

If you cannot multitask, don’t try to juggle different tasks all at the same time.

In most cases, you will be task switching, not multitasking.

And that actually makes you less productive.

The switching cost effect may be more harmful than you think.

As I caught myself switching between tasks this week, I quickly changed my environment, set a timer and narrowed down my focus to just one task.

Without distraction physically and mentally, I managed to learn 3 new songs and finish a progress report in record time.

What are you focusing on this week?

To not overwhelm yourself, narrow down your focus.

Reflections 🪞

Where do I want to be this time next year?

Mindfulness 🧘🏻‍♀️

Does your current routine get you closer to where you wanna be?

In other words, are there any habits you would like to build or get rid of?

There will be days you don’t want to show up.

Days you wanna completely write off.

Habits are like systems – they maintain your standards even when you want to operate on auto pilot.

So if we are mindful about our behaviours, we can make sure we are always on track to achieve our goals even on days we “don’t feel like it”.

Here are my basics that I try to target 85% of the time:

💤 Get my sleep right – daylight viewing, proper wind down routine

🥑 Get my nutrition right – high protein, whole food

🏃🏻 Move as much as I can – walks, 4x strength training per week

💭 Mental preparation – know my priorities before the day starts

We are kept from our goal not by obstacles but by a clear path to a lesser goal.
