Doable ideas 💭

Not all 24 hours are the same.

Time works differently, depending on our state of mind.

Personal examples:

  • In winter I go to bed earlier. After work and dinner I most likely don’t have energy or creativity to do anything I deem productive. Not to mention how much I like the sun. So I “gain” more in the first hour of the day after waking when I’m out and about, feeling recharged and awesome about myself.
  • Spending time with like-minded people inspires and recharges us. Such good feeling spreads into other aspects of life too. Time flies when you’re having fun. 🙂

How would you change your routines/behaviours to make your life better? How can you invest in what you do differently?

Reflections 🪞

If I could see my current problems from a cosmic perspective, how significant would they truly appear?

Mindfulness 🧘🏻‍♀️

In previous newsletters I’ve talked about the incredible power of human beings to “time travel” to both past and future – and it still rings true to me.

We spend so much time ruminating the past and wondering the “what-ifs”.

Time when everything felt simpler and effortless.

Conversations we wished that ended in our favour.

The truth is, life consists of so much randomness that there is no way to make “perfect” decisions or to plan to the T how our career, health, relationships and lifestyle will go.

Why do we still get stuck on worries and regrets?

it is cliche, but really, what we have is now.

To be honest with you, this is my constant battle: to be present in the moment.

Being a therapist doesn’t mean I have it all figured out, or that I’m living a fully intentional, mindful life 100% of the time.

My antidote?

I’m more inclined to alter my physical state than to think my way out of a mind problem.

Put me in water (swimming in pool/beach, float therapy) or upside down (ring candlestick and handstand), and I will have no choice but to focus on what I’m doing.

I believe this is what mindfulness is all about:

To align our body and mind.

To be here.

I’m keen to hear from you what you do to practise mindfulness! Hit reply and let’s talk 💬

Ideas Worth Pondering 🧠

If you’re not happy, rethink your definition of success. The one you have is not working for you. You can’t have it all. You shouldn’t want to have it all because that’s the best way to wind up unhappy and unfulfilled.
