Been reflecting a lot on emotions, inner peace and life satisfaction. Deep dive next week.
Today in 3 minutes or less, you’ll learn:
✔️ How to get closer to your goal
✔️ What behaviours to change
✔️ Whether music actually helps you cope with difficult emotions
Doable ideas 💭
Track your food for a week.
As I always say, data tells stories.
Be honest with yourself.
The reality is like a mirror, reflecting the gap between your current and ideal self.
Track your progress and tweak your approach, whatever goal you’re working on.
P.S. I’m officially in a bulking phase and my calories and macros were ON POINT first week in. Can’t tell you how much self-aware I became since I started tracking again.
Reflections 🪞
What old patterns are showing up in my life?
Mindfulness 🧘🏻♀️
We all know that music can change our mood.
Think of the last time you listened to music when you felt upset: did music really make you feel better?
Or did you start ruminating, wondering about the “what-ifs”?
We may feel better even when we listen to sad songs when we feel sad, because we feel related.
Someone went through a similar situation and poured their feelings into that song you listen on repeat.
But be careful – if you rely on music to get stuck in the past, or worry about the future, that won’t help solve your problem, technically and emotionally speaking.
Temporary pain relief or distraction via music is alright, but don’t make it a habit.
So how can you tell whether your music listening habit is healthy?
Enter the Healthy-Unhealthy Music Scale (HUMS).
It was developed to assess young people’s music listening habit, directly measuring how music contributed to well-being.
