Huge win this week:
I did a collaboration with the psychologists in mental health unit this week for some guided meditation, progressive muscle relaxation and guided imagery exercise with my handpan.
Received great feedback.
I felt so blessed to be in my position – being able to improve people’s wellbeing with my strength and passion, and a great team.
Two questions for you:
- What’s your biggest win this week?
- What are you going to do FOR YOURSELF this week?
Today in 5 minutes or less, you’ll learn:
✔️ Why knowing how much is “enough” is important
✔️ How to show up better
✔️ First step of self-actualisation
Doable ideas 💭
Know your “enough” number.
Huge idea I’m going to explore further later.
Essentially, there’s only so much you can do, take on, endure, eat or drink before you call it a day.
This week I hit my “enough” number in client load and social events.
I felt exhausted.
Test it out if you are unsure about your limit.
Other factors that affect your capacity include sleep, energy and hormone level.
Pay attention.
Don’t ignore any signs of burnout.
This also extends to knowing how much work is “enough”.
We are wired to always want more, without an end goal.
What is your “enough” number?
Reflections 🪞
What routine or new habit can help you show up at your best?
Mindfulness 🧘🏻♀️
What makes someone successful?
(Successful in the context of self-actualisation.)
I think it might be how quick people close the gap between current and ideal reality.
It might take a while for a lot of people to know what they want to want.
But the next is often more daunting – to actually START.
There is resistance.
There is fear.
All the self-doubt, change of identity, unknown… lead to procrastination of taking the first step.
The gap between current and ideal reality is what defines the successful.
If you’re as impatient as me, you might be familiar with the frustration of not getting what you want yesterday.
We set unrealistic expectations.
We overlook the progress and effort.
But if we had the courage to just tiptoe, we might be onto something great.
Last week I set a goal of getting up at 5.45am every day to work on my projects and exercise.
And…
That never happened.
But I did get up earlier than usual to edit some videos and have a walk.
Still a win.
Baby steps.
To close the gap between now and where I want to be.
Keep showing up.
